What are Metric Security Socket Button Head Sealing Screws?

A Sealing Screw variant of our Metric Security Socket Button Screws, featuring a tamper proof hexagonal drive and a captive rubber O-Ring, this type of screw is produced in the USA by ZAGO to Military Specifications and is designed to prevent hazardous substances from leaking into machinery or devices.

The Button Head of these Sealing Screws is a low profile dome shape, offering an aesthetically pleasing finish with no sharp edges. The resilient rubber O-Ring is pre-fitted within a uniquely engineered groove on the underside of the screw head, which when fastened provides high level protection against internal and external leaks.

It is advised that to achieve optimal performance, a clearance gap should be formed in the mating panel, allowing the O-Ring to reshape itself during installation thereby creating a complete 360° seal. Unlike using a standard screw and separate O-Ring, this design affords metal-to-metal contact between the head of the screw and the mating surface, ensuring that the seal is air-tight and long lasting.

This type of Sealing Fastener is available in A2 Stainless Steel as standard, with the captive O Ring manufactured in either Buna, Fluorosilicone and Viton (Fluorocarbon), varying in hardness and temperature range.
