What Are Square Head Grommet Nuts / Nylon Screw Insulators?

Square head grommet nuts are a type of nylon screw insulator. They are designed for use in applications that require vibration and corrosion resistance. Grommet nuts provide a positive connection of thin gauge materials while eliminating cross threading. 

The specially designed locks snap into a pre-punched square hole. As the self tapping sheet metal screw is tightened, the poly grommet expands and securely locks the stainless steel screw and assembled parts in place. Screw grommet nuts made from nylon are often used for providing protection against thermal transfer and electrical insulation in areas of an assembly.
