How Floor Board Screws Work.

For example, when installing solid wood flooring, these hardwood floor screws are driven at a 30° angle through the tongue and into the subflooring creating a hidden screw effect. As the screw is driven in, the angle of the countersunk head makes for a smaller footprint but also facilitates the head to sink neatly into the wood avoiding visible damage. This not only provides a sturdy connection but prevents imperfections that can lead to the tongue and groove misaligning and minimises the risk of squeaking, hence the term anti-squeak floor screws.
