Precision Gears are designed to be suitable for a wide variety of high-precision industrial applications. The Precision Gears range includes a selection of products, from simple singular Spur Gears to Spiral Bevel Gears. In addition, AccuGroup stocks a number of specialist actuation components, such as Precision Racks and Worm Gears.
Precision Gears can be precisely spaced and calibrated using supporting components such as Spacers or Shim Washers.
Spur Gears are intended for the simple transmission of rotary motion between two parallel shafts, and can be used in different gear ratios to alter the speed and torque of a mechanism.
Mitre Gears are sold in pairs of 1:1 ratio angled gears. This allows them to transmit rotary motion through an angled drivetrain, but does not allow for alterations to drive speed or torque. Spiral Mitre Gears are also available, which feature a spiral tooth configuration, which allows for smooth, near-silent operation due to the gradual engagement of each tooth.
Similarly to Mitre Gears, Bevel Gears are sold in pairs. These components are sold in different gear ratios, allowing them to convert gear speeds and torque along an angled drivetrain. Spiral Bevel Gears are also available.
Rack and Pinion Systems
Rack and Pinion Systems are made up of a Precision Rack and an accompanying Spur Gear. Two types of Rack are available, Rectangular Precision Racks, and Round Precision Racks. These systems allow for rotary motion to be converted into linear motion.
Worms and Wheels
Worms and Wheels are unique in their ability to transmit very high levels of torque a very low speeds. As their name suggests, Worm and Wheel mechanisms are made up of a Worm and an accompanying Wheel. Worms and Wheels are also very resistant to backdrive, as the mechanism can only be effectively driven from the Worm side.
