Kieran's Off To Kenya!

Accu Warehouse Operative Kieran Wins The Trip Of A Lifetime!

Amongst an array of riveting announcements at this year’s annual summer conference, we are thrilled to share that our latest Warehouse Operative, Kieran Parker, is the lucky winner of an extraordinary trip of a lifetime to Kenya!

Following our local fundraising efforts through the AccuFoundation, we wanted to offer a member of #TeamAccu the chance to contribute to a meaningful cause somewhere a little further afield. And what better way to do that than to send someone on an all-expenses-paid fully immersive conservation experience?

Only joining the team back in August, it is safe to say that Kieran did not expect to be embarking on an unforgettable adventure so early into his career with Accu!

Kieran Parker - Accu's newest Warehouse Operative - wins the AccuFoundation 2024 Volunteering Trip to Kenya! In early 2024, the expedition will take Kieran to the remarkable Soysambu Conservancy, nestled on the shores of Lake Elmenteita in the heart of Kenya's Great Rift Valley. This conservancy is a haven for breathtaking wildlife, and it is dedicated to preserving the natural riches of the region.

Here, Kieran will have the opportunity to immerse himself in the conservation efforts and learn firsthand about the vital work being done to protect and preserve the remarkable African wildlife.

Throughout his time in Kenya, Kieran will also have the privilege of exploring breathtaking places, such as Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its incredible rhino population. This iconic park is not only home to these magnificent creatures but also boasts a diverse array of wildlife, including zebras, elephants, and numerous bird species.

Kieran will have the chance to witness the beauty of these animals in their natural habitat while gaining a deeper understanding of the crucial role conservation plays in their survival.

Nevertheless, the experience is not just about observation. From assisting with habitat restoration to participating in wildlife monitoring activities, Kieran will have hands-on involvement in the day-to-day operations of the conservancy.

When asked about his thoughts on being selected for this incredible opportunity, Kieran expressed his excitement and gratitude. "It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I'm incredibly grateful to Accu for making this dream a reality. I look forward to contributing to global conservation efforts and learning so much during my time in Kenya. What an incredible journey lies ahead!"

This extraordinary trip-of-a-lifetime is just one way we are striving towards our mission to build a better tomorrow.

Our CEO and Co-Founder, Martin Ackroyd, shared his excitement about Kieran's upcoming adventure, highlighting the importance of supporting conservation. "At Accu, we're not just about business; we're about making a positive impact. We believe in the power of individuals and their ability to affect change. We're delighted to give our hardworking team members like Kieran the chance to contribute to global conservation efforts."

Congratulations Kieran, what a phenomenal way to kickstart your first month at Accu! We wish you an unforgettable and enriching experience and can’t wait to hear all about it!
