A specialised, high-tech Self Sealing variant of our popular Cap Screws, Socket Cap Head Sealing Screws are uniquely engineered with a groove under the head. This groove is fitted with a resilient rubber O Ring, which squeezes and reshapes itself during installation in order to block in/ out harmful contaminants such as chemicals, gases and air.

Accu’s range of Sealing Cap Screws are produced by ZAGO in the USA and are manufactured to Military Specifications, with pressure resistance to 1500 psi. Trusted by companies across the world in a range of industries, including LiDAR, Robotics & Drones, Electronics and in the manufacturing of Medical Devices, Sealing Cap Head Screws are versatile and satisfy engineers’ toughest requirements.

The captive O-Ring permits metal-to-metal contact between the underside of the head of the Cap Screw and the surface of the mating component. When installed with a clearance hole, this also allows for the O-Ring to squeeze outwardly to reshape itself as the screw is tightened, thus creating a 360° hermetic seal and ensuring optimal performance.

As with their standard counterpart, Socket Cap Head Sealing Screws can be fastened to the desired torque using a Hexagon Socket Key Wrench (commonly known as an Allen Key). In line with ZAGO’s mission of manufacturing clean, sustainable sealing solutions, these self sealing fasteners are suitable for reuse and perform more efficiently over using a standard Socket Cap Screw with a separate O-Ring.

Accu can supply Cap Sealing Screws in natural finish A2 (304) Stainless Steel as standard, with alternative grades, materials and finishes available through our Bespoke Component Service.

O-Ring Materials

As standard, there are 4 material options for the captive O-Ring fitted to our Cap Head Sealing Screws, Buna, Fluorosilicone, Silicone and Viton (Fluorocarbon). Alternative O Ring materials, including FDA approved O-Rings are available on request.

Sizes

Metric Socket Cap Sealing Screws are available from Accu in thread sizes M2 up to M12, with lengths ranging between 4mm and 25mm.

Imperial sizes within this range are from No. 2 to 5/16” thread diameters and lengths from 3/16” to 1.¼”.
