Captive Thumb Screws are a specialised variant of the standard DIN 464 Thumb Screw range, designed with an unthreaded shank below the head. This unthreaded portion is designed for use with one of Accu’s Captive Washers. The large, knurled head of these fasteners also makes them easily operated by hand. Slotted Captive Thumb Screws are a variant of this product, featuring an addition of a slotted drive.

Captive Screws are intended to be easily removed and reinstalled when necessary, the addition of a large knurled head for operation by hand simplifies this process. Captive Thumb Screws are often used for affixing captive panels, which must be retained for safety reasons on many industrial machines.
