Wave Washers are designed to create spring pressure when compressed, and are often used to pre-load fasteners. Some users also install Wave Washers as locking devices, although Accu do sell a number of specialist components for this purpose.
Wave Washers are occasionally called Crinkle Washers. Accu also stock a full range of Crinkle Washers. Wave Washers and Crinkle Washers are often used almost interchangeably, but Crinkle Washers are generally used for spacing, whereas Wave Washers are used as springs.
Materials
Wave Washers can be manufactured from A2 Stainless Steel as standard, with the option of Chemical Matte Black Coatings also available.
Metric Wave Washers
Components within this range are manufactured according to DIN 137B, and are available with internal diameters ranging from M3 up to M20, with additional sizes available for custom manufacture on request.
