Dowel Pins are designed for use as highly precise locating and positioning devices. These components are generally inserted into reamed holes and used as reference points for other parts in an assembly. The use of metal Dowel Pins can significantly decrease misalignment of components. Our range of Stainless Steel Dowel Pins in A4 and A1 Stainless are machined to very tight tolerances, and are often used to provide precise alignment in a wide variety of engineering applications.

Dowel Pins are manufactured to be very slightly oversized, which allows them to be press fit into a desired hole. Dowel Pins installed by press fit are less likely to be affected by vibrations.

Materials

Stainless Steel Dowel Pins are one of Accu's most popular products, but these components are available in a range of alternative materials. Both A2 and A4 Stainless Steel Dowel Pins are available, as well as Aluminium, Brass, Phosphor Bronze and PEEK thermoplastic. Chemical Blackening is available on Stainless Steel components.

Metric Dowel Pins

Accu’s metric Dowel Pins are available in metric diameters from 1.00mm up to 20.00mm, and lengths of between 3.00mm and 120.00mm.

Imperial Dowel Pins

Imperial Dowel Pins are available in diameters ranging from 1/16 inch up to ¾ inch, and lengths of from 3/16 inch and 6 inch.
