Belleville Washers (also called Conical Washers or Belleville Springs) are part of our extensive range of Washers and they are designed to act as cone-shaped springs, and are often used to pre-load a fastener. Stainless Steel Belleville Washers are intended to be flexible, and because of their conical shape, Belleville Washers create near-perfect concentric force dispersal. Due to popular request, the range has recently expanded to include acetal belleville washers and these plastic belleville washers are now available as standard.

Conical Belleville Washers are highly versatile, and can be installed in different positions for different effects. Two Belleville Washers installed facing the same direction will create a more rigid pre-load structure, whereas two washers facing in opposite directions will create a more flexible spring. Multiple Belleville Washers can be used in series to create very precise deflection forces, increasing or decreasing the force dependent on the direction of each washer.


These components can be manufactured from Acetal, A2 and A4 Stainless Steel as standard, with Chemical Matte Black Coatings available on request.

Metric Belleville Washers

Belleville Washers are available in metric diameters of between M3 and M24, and are manufactured to a general tolerance of +/-0.13mm.
