Oldham Split Hub Couplings

What are Oldham Split Hub Couplings?

Oldham Couplings are built from three rotating discs - one connected to the input shaft, one connected to the output shaft, and a central disc which orbits between the two by sliding on a pair of tongues and grooves. Oldham Couplings are particularly useful for their compact size, and are used in compensation for parallel misalignment.

Split Hub Oldham Couplings are also available in smaller sizes, which can be found in AccuGroup's Miniature Split Hub Oldham Couplings range.

Split Hub

This component is mounted to a shaft using a Split Hub, which should be a tight fit to each axle. Split Hubs hold an advantage over Pin Hub Oldham Couplings in that they have multiple points of contact, making them less likely to become decentralised during operation.
