DIN 404 Capstan Screws are designed with a broad cylindrical head, which features multiple radial holes for the insertion of a lever, cable or wire, which is then turned or wound around the screw for tension adjustment. A Capstan Screw is unique in that itcan be turned from either the slotted drive, or from the holes in its side.
These components are widely used in metrology equipment and in musical instruments such as pianos, as they are capable of being adjusted in very fine increments.
Capstan Screws are available in A2 Stainless Steel as standard, with the option of Chemical Black Coatings available on request.
