This type of 2-Way Security Torx Screw features a specialist self drilling tip, designed to penetrate and cut a thread into the housing material which can negate the need for a pre-drilled hole.
This Self Drilling Screw, also known commonly as a Tek Screw, is fitted with a 6-Lobe Pin (Torx Security) Drive. This combines the high torque benefits of a Torx drive with a security pin, preventing a standard torx bit from being used to remove the screw and enhancing the overall security of the fastener within the fixture.
The Pan Head of this Security Self Drilling Screw is free from sharp edges and provides a trim finish, which is one of the reasons this head type is commonly chosen for decorative applications. For a Countersunk Head variant of this torx security screw, see Accu’s range of Delta Protekt Security Torx Countersunk Self Drilling Screws.
Accu also lists Stainless Steel Torx Pan Head Self Drilling Screws for applications which do not require enhanced security from a Pin Torx drive or a specialised hardened steel coating.
Materials
Security Torx Pan Head Self Drilling Screws in this range are manufactured from Case Hardened Steel with a Delta Protekt® finish.
