This type of Security Self Tapping Screw features a round (domed) head fitted with a Clutch tamper proof drive. The specialised ridge design of this high security fastener can only be operated in a clockwise direction, making it an ideal choice for applications which require a one way permanent fixing. As a result, Clutch Head Screws are commonly used by the police as anti-theft number plate screws, helping to prevent removal and misuse of the license plates.

Installation of these one way security screws is simple, only requiring a Slotted Screwdriver, also commonly known as a Flat Head Screwdriver. However, as Clutch Head Screws are designed to be a permanent fixing, a security screw removal tool is required to uninstall this fastener. Two Way Security Screws, such as 5 Lobe Pin Security Self Tapping Button Screws, are available for applications where anti-tamper screws need to be removed or adjusted.

Materials

Clutch Head Screws in this range are made from A2 Stainless Steel, also known as 304 grade, making them an ideal choice for applications where corrosion resistance is a requirement. This component can also be purchased from Accu with a Matte Black finish.
