    Third Length Centre Groove Pins

    What are Third Length Centre Groove Pins?

    Accu’s Third Length Centre Grooved Pins are a type of parallel pin designed for use in a wide range of industries, typically used in fastening or locating applications, for example as shafts for pulleys.

    The centre of the pin is fitted with 3 equi-distant grooves, cut to 120° across one third of the overall length, with chamfered edges at either end. During installation into a pre-drilled hole, compression on the central grooved portion, which is slightly larger in diameter than the rest of the pin, causes a radial holding force which helps to secure the pin in place.

    Also listed in our standard range are Full Length Taper Grooved Pins, which feature a swaged groove running the full length of the pin, and Half Length Taper Grooved Pins, with a groove which runs half the length of the pin.

    Materials

    Third Length Groove Pins are manufactured from A1 (303) Stainless Steel and are available in either a natural finish or with a chemical matte black finish.

    Sizes

    Produced in accordance with the DIN 1475 manufacturing standard, ⅓ Length Centre Groove Pins can be purchased from Accu in diameters ranging from 1.5mm to 8mm and in lengths from 8mm to 90mm.
