Self Clinching Pins are designed for insertion into sheet metal as a locating feature. They are to be installed by pressing into a drilled, punched or laser cut hole, during which the metal deforms and cold flows into the features at the base of the pin. This locks the pin in place as a permanent feature.
Self Clinching Flush Head Pins when installed leave a flush surface on the rear face of the sheet, to reduce the risk of snagging and leave a neat finish. These components should not be installed too close to the edge of a sheet in order to reduce deformation and retain positioning accuracy. Self Clinching Flush Head Pins are available in Stainless Steel (A1) and Carbon Steel (Grade 6). The Carbon Steel variants feature a Trivalent Zinc Plated finish, whilst the Stainless Steel option can be supplied with ourPX-3 Matte Black Coating, on request.
