End Mills are part of Accu's range of Milling Cutters. The cutting tool consists of a metal shank with a number of cutting teeth. The grooves between the teeth are called 'flutes'. The flutes help to draw the swarf up and away from the cutting area while allowing coolant to enter.
What Is An End Mill Used For?
They are used for cutting laterally through material or for carving horizontally across the edges. There are many applications where an end mill can be used such as: traditional roughing, finishing, high efficiency milling and contouring. Slot Drills are a type of centre cutting end mill and they are used for plunging and slotting. They are available from Accu in ball nose, square and corner radius end profiles.
